The Oireachtas Life and Dignity Group held an event on Thursday, 18th March on policy changes needed in the area of education of children with Down Syndrome.

The event was hosted by Sean Canney TD and presentations were made to the meeting by Martin McBreen and Carina O’Riodain, both parents of children with Down Syndrome.

Hosted to mark World Down Syndrome Day 2021, the over 20 Oireachtas Members in attendance heard the need for further developement of post-second level pathways for children and adults with Down Syndrome.

The meeting was positive and uplifting with a great number of contributions.

Co-chairs of the Life and Dignity Group Carol Nolan TD and Peter Fitzpatrick TD thanked all those in attendance.

Carol Nolan TD encouraged members to share the video created to mark World Down Syndrome day and played during the meeting to their social media accounts.
